The Founders and the Board of Directors of NDLD hold our league volunteers in particularly high regard and to high standards. Thank you for volunteering. By adhering to this volunteer code of conduct, we can ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all individuals participating in roller derby.

 

North Dakota Legend Derby Volunteers pledge the following: 

 

• I will treat all participants, officials, and fellow volunteers with respect, fairness, and kindness.

• I will embrace diversity and inclusivity by accepting all individuals regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation.

• I will refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination or harassment.

• I will encourage a positive and supportive atmosphere for all involved.

• I will prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants above all else.

• I will follow all safety guidelines and regulations provided by the league.

• I will report any concerns related to safety, abuse, or misconduct promptly to the board.

• I will encourage and promote healthy competition while ensuring that the well-being of the skater is never compromised.

• I will conduct myself in a professional manner at all times, acting as a role model.

• I will avoid any behavior that may be deemed inappropriate, offensive, or disrespectful.

• I will maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid any actions that may be misinterpreted or uncomfortable.

• I will seek proper training and education to enhance my understanding of roller derby, its rules, and safety practices.

• I will respect the privacy of all participants and volunteers and will not share personal information without consent.

• I will maintain confidentiality of sensitive information or discussions that occur within the league.

• I will handle personal or sensitive information provided to me responsibly and securely.

• I will collaborate effectively with other volunteers, coaches, officials, and parents/guardians to create a positive environment.

• I will communicate clearly and openly, demonstrating effective listening skills and understanding different perspectives.

• I will work towards common goals and support the overall mission of the  league.

• I will recognize and appreciate the contributions of others, fostering a sense of teamwork & unity.

• I will strive to continuously develop and enhance my skills and knowledge related to roller derby.
